Join us for an AMAZING night of comedy! The Training Ground in Lafayette is hosting a killer lineup of comedians who have been performing all over the country. And no burpees required to attend this event. The Training Ground opened it’s doors in October 2022 and has quickly grown to a local hub of activity.

It is BYOB and doors will open at 6 pm to connect and mingle.

Performing

Lisa Lane is an overeducated goofball who finds the funny in the balancing act of parenting teenagers, becoming single at age 50, and navigating the chin hairs and wrinkles on her very own face. Most recently featured on the Netflix sensation How to Build a Sex Room and a tour of casinos in the American southwest, Lisa is a regular host, feature, and mother figure in the Colorado comedy scene [Denver Improv, Comedy Works, Boulder Theatre, Loonees, 3Es, the MLB All-Star Game 5K, 7450th Medical Officer Reserve Unit, American Legion Post 1260, Colorado Real Estate Finance Group, and a variety of shows for parents and educators]. She is the author of Teenagers Suck and Beyond Mama Bear, as well as an announcer and voiceover actor.

Linus Leas is a Cambodian American comic who started comedy in Asia doing shows for expats and locals alike. He was a featured performer for the comedy group “Shenzhen Now” and most recently, the Boulder Comedy Festival. Along with his unique experiences of what it means to be an Asian American in America, and abroad, he provides a unique take on the world to the stage.

Andrea Vahl is an author and mom who spends way too much time on Facebook watching cat videos while pretending to work on “marketing”. Apparently the makers of cat videos seem to be her target market. She has performed at Women in Comedy Festival Boston, Women’s Funny Fest Chicago, World Series of Comedy and venues such as Comedy Works, The Denver Improv, and produced her own standup shows.

Derrick Stroup Alabama native and stand-up comedian Derrick Stroup is not your average slow talking Southerner. With the cadence of an angry auctioneer, he engages his audiences with his detailed stories, over the top energy and southern charm.

Since leaving home for Denver in 2015 to chase his dreams of stand-up comedy, Derrick has become a regular opener for the likes of John Crist and Josh Blue. He also won one of the biggest comedy contests in the country in 2019 at the World-Famous Comedy Works in Denver. This well-respected competition has over 250 entries each year. Look for Derrick’s Dry Bar Comedy special titled Derrick Stroup: Yelling My Feelings.
