Last weekend I went to the Mojo Retreat organized by the fantastic Melani Ward and Sandy Grason. Eight amazing, inspiring business-women attended to work on our mojo in the beautiful Vail, Colorado.
It was a time to relax, think about our businesses, get some fresh air and clear the old noggin’. We all have some head trash to take out from time to time and this was the perfect weekend for me to do that.
We spent a lot of time just creating. Whatever we wanted to work on with our business. Here’s something interesting that happened. I thought I was going on the retreat for one thing – to map out the next year of my business. But I came away with something completely different – confidence in my intuition.
And the ability to tell my inner critic to pipe down. She’s mean. Being an entrepreneur is hard work. Sometimes every day can be a mental battle, trying to figure out what you should be working on, what direction to take and telling your inner critic to shut the hell up.
That’s why you need to unplug. Take a break. Breathe dammit! Once I allowed myself to relax and listen to my intuition, everything fell into place. You know what you need to do. No one has a magic map or blueprint for you. You have it inside. Listen to me, I’m getting all philosophical. It must have been the altitude.
It was also good to laugh. We laughed a lot. I now have 8 new fantastic and beautiful friends. Let me introduce you. These women are exciting, dynamic and have wonderful things in the works. I highly recommend following them and connecting with them.
Bea Bohm-Meyer – a leadership and corporate coach rocking the Canadian market. Wicked smart and a fantastic mother.
Sue Ann Gleason – helping women learn how to nourish themselves from the inside out with healthy eating habits. Sign up for her newletter to get 7 Secrets to a Fit, Radiant and Rockin’ New You. She’s also a freakin’ awesome writer and a beacon of light.
Tara Powers – she helps businesses align their culture with their businesses and strategy. She’s also a bundle of fun and a great mom.
Jen Powter – she is a business strategist, life coach and powerhouse! I added that last part. She knows how to help women get their businesses on the web and knows that how people approach their life matters. Plus she does Iron Man races and fought fires in Banff – don’t mess with her.
Kim Kirmmse Toth – a business and lifestyle design coach helping women create a heart centered coaching business. Woowee, is she fun! She’s got fantastic ideas and is a great networker. And she has raised some wonderful daughters.
Catherine Vu – has built Pro-Active IT into one of the premiere IT companies in Alberta. She is passionate about making her business client focused. She is also a fantastic fundraiser for many charities. Super funny and was voted best-dressed on our retreat.
Barb Warner – a true inspiration, she created a business called Powerful Tools for the Second Half of Life, after retiring to help people design the life they want after retirement. Take a look at her website and I see a book in her future!
Then there was the fantastic Melani and Sandy. These women are insightful, wise, beautiful inside and out, inspiring, creative, caring, and all-around awesomesauce. Thank you ladies, for all you did for all of us. It was a perfect retreat!
PS. Watch my video too.
And a good time was had by all! I’m happy to say that not only did I get my MOJO back, I’m still feeling the energy of 9 amazing women and I’ve have been super focused on my business since I returned albeit in a very different way!
Missing my MOJO sisters. . . 😉
