Why do you want a Facebook Like box on your website or blog? To make it easier for people to Like you. They don’t even have to leave your lovely website, they can just click the Like button. Plus people can take a look at your posts or your lovely Facebook community and decide they want to be a part of it. (Pssst, don’t forget to click the Like box in the column to the right – lots of good-looking people in my community)
The nice thing is that Facebook has recently made adding a Like box easier with their code. You can access this code by either within your dashboard of your page, as I show you in the video or by going there directly: http://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/plugins/like-box
Watch the video tutorial to get all the juicy step-by-step details on how you add your like box.
Easy-peasy!! THANKS!!
Easy-peasy! THANKS!
So happy you got it all installed Deb! You took the words right out of my mouth LOL
Grandma, I recently added a like box to http://blog.rearting.net, but since I use Posterous, it was a PITA. I had to use Iframes. But—that was not FB’s fault. Thanks for the tutorial. Always a pleasure to see your sunny countenance! 🙂
P.S.: I am a big fan of winging it, too!
Glad you got your like box in! It’s handy and so glad you like winging it too!
i didn’t catch that grandma.. the instructions were simple but it doesn’t work on wordpress..
Hi Jedah –
If you are using a WordPress.com site, these instructions won’t work. If you are using WordPress.org installed on your own hosted site then they should work by adding a Text box in the sidebar. That is one of the frustrating things about WordPress.com, it doesn’t have the flexibility that hosting your own site does. Hope that helps!
