I know I’ve talked about this before but I had to dedicate a whole post to it. Creating a Facebook Friends list is going to help you manage Facebook so much better. You’re life will be easier and birds will start singing to you. Well maybe not but you’re going to love it, trust me.
It’s easy to do, just click on the Friends link on the left side of your home page. Then there is a Create a List button in the upper right corner.
From there, you name your list and start checking people you want on that list. I recommend making a list for local people, groups you are in, maybe networking groups – you get the idea.
After you have created the list, you can then click on the Friends link on the left side and click on that list. Now you are only seeing updates from the people on that list. Updates don’t get buried by those “over-posters” – those people who won’t shut up. You can keep track of people much better.
Plus these lists are going to come in handy other places too – we’ll talk more.
Super helpful, Grandma Mary! I haven’t yet created my lists for Facebook so I should get off my hiney and get it done. I’m currently just scanning down the home page news feed a couple of times a day. But I can clearly see (with the help of your way cool video) that segmenting people into groups is actually a real convenience and time-saver.
Thanks and don’t forget to eat your veggies! (especially those yummy green ones)
Are those personal lists private? Am I the only one who’ll see its population?
Yes, they are private – if you create an Interest List that can be public. But your Friends lists are private. Hope that helps!
