I need to apologize. I tell people to create a content calendar. I tell them to blog regularly. And while I’ve been posting at least one blog post per week, it’s been pretty erratic. Who knows when it will show up?
Well that is going to change. I am committing to my own content calendar starting today.
Take a look at my video to hear my apology and hear what I need from you. Grandma Mary keeps cutting in so be prepared.
Here is my Editorial Calendar on what I’m going to be posting each week:
- Motivation Monday – a little pep talk from Grandma or some inspiration to get you started every week. Take a look at Grandma’s other Pep Talks to get the idea.
- Technology Tuesday – an in-depth look at a social media tip or technique to help your business.
- Fun Friday – either an interview, a quick social media tip, or something else that I might be featuring like a new product or event.
But I need your help. I want to hear about the topics you most need help with in the comments below. I want to make sure I’m covering what you need. It can be as specific or as broad as you want.
I have a ton of ideas on what I’m going to be covering but I want to make sure that what I blog about is beneficial to you! Let me know in the comments below! And don’t worry – Grandma won’t be singing any more karaoke.
Love this.. I am sure Grandma Mary had something else in midn when she was referring to being regular..lol..I would love to know more about basic twitter..what can I say..I more at Grandma Mary’s speed. Thanks…loved the video!
Apology accepted. I like the categories you’ve chosen for your schedule. I try to keep a schedule for my YouTube videos. New one every Friday and that has really helped to boost my subscribers of YouTube and my list.
Here’s my problem though. I get so excited when I’m done a blog post or video that I can’t wait to publish it so I basically let the cat out of the bag early. Is that bad?
Not sure at this point what would be more useful… I am rather new to this whole social media business as it goes to applications for business, so I am pretty much all over the board… Be sure I’ll be following and will let you know as I go along!
So glad you liked it! Yes, I never know what Grandma’s going to come out with 🙂 Love the suggestion and I will definitely put that in the upcoming tutorials!
I am the same way Marlene – as soon as I get it done, I’m so excited I want to hit publish 🙂 But I’ve definitely discovered that I need a little buffer in the queue so I’m not always doing things at the last minute. Love to see how much your YouTube presence has grown! Congrats 🙂
Thanks for stopping by and saying hello anyway Sylvie! It still is nice to know a general feel for what people need. See you again soon 🙂
Hey there Andrea and Grandma <3 I would love to hear more on how you utilize meetup.com — I noticed in the last email that you are giving a class and you are using meetup for it 😀 Living in Spokane, WA, I am in the processes of figuring out whether I want to start a meetup of my own. There are NO (I repeat NO) WordPress specific meetups here in Spokane and I really would like to see a WordCamp come to here. Not that I don't mind driving to Seattle or flying to Portland OR but we have a pretty booming web development community here in Spokane and I'm horribly disappointed that NO ONE has started a WordPress specific meet up here. Looks like I need to step up to the plate and go WAY OUT OF MY COMFORT ZONE to boot! LOL but ANY advice you have about utilizing meetup would be AWESOME!! Many thanks 🙂
There are so many social media strategies….maybe by taking your webinar i could understand better what I’m doing right/wrong. I know i doing some things right as I check my pages almost everyday, and I gain new followers on my blog.
Oh and as for new blogging topics….relationships?? And I know someone you can interview 😉
Hey Andrea,
I was wondering if you could make a blog post about using conversion specs in power editor to maximize results. I find this method of optimizing a bit confusing (example : Advertising a Page Post and optimizing for ‘Likes’ rather than ‘Engagements’.
