One of the biggest frustrations of most Page owners is finding good content to share on their Page. You can only write so much of your own content and finding the best content in your niche will help you stand out as a Page that people want to follow.
Here are 5 sources of content that will save you time and make your job as a go-to resource in your niche easier.
#1 Feedly
Start making a list of your go-to sources of content in your industry. Once you build your list of favorite blogs and website, you can easily see at a glance which sites have new material or posts to share. You can also use the search feature to discover new sites you might not be aware of. Get started at Feedly.com
#2 Post Planner
Post Planner gives you Status Ideas, let’s you see Trending Content , and allows you to tap into Viral Photos.
You can post to your profile, Page or Groups with their app and with the professional level, you can bulk upload posts. You can also add RSS Feeds so that you can easily share content from your favorite blogs.
#3 Smartbrief
What I like about Smartbrief is that you get automatic content sent to your e-mail inbox. Sometimes one more e-mail is not what you want but other times it’s a reminder that shows up where you are already spending time. I also like the variety of industries available.
#4 Buzzsumo
Buzzsumo allows you to put a topic in the search field and find out specific articles that got the most shares across all social sites. Why not share something that has already proven to be “share-worthy”? You can filter by the last 6 months or more recent dates to see fresh content.
#5 Other Facebook Pages
Many times you know which other Facebook Pages consistently have good content and valuable posts. They may be in your industry or they may be a complement to your business so your audience will also be interested in their content.
There are a few different ways to watch their Facebook posts. One is to like their Page as your Page and then watch your Page news feed. This makes it easy to share their posts when you see them in your news feed.
Another way to easily monitor other Pages is to create an Interest List of all of the best Pages in your niche on your personal profile and periodically monitor that feed. You can make this Interest List public so other people can follow it, or you can make it private so only you know who is on it.
One thing to keep in mind with all of these techniques is that if you tag the Facebook Page of the original content, you increase your visibility both with the Page owner and possibly the audience of that other Page. Always give credit where credit is due.
As you develop your editorial calendar you will grow your list of the best content sources for your niche. You can have your top 10 sources of content in each area you share. You may have certain content sources for humor posts, others for industry news, and a different content source for helpful tutorials to supplement the content from your own blog. Develop your own personalized system of content curation to make posting easier and quicker for you!
Best Practices for Sharing the Best Content on Facebook
- Find a variety of content related to your niche.
- Tag the other Facebook Page when you share it to your own.
- Monitor other Pages in your industry to see what types of content sharing works for them.

Andrea! Great list of resources and of course I love Post Planner!! 😛
Thanks for the shout-out, Andrea! I also love Feedly! 🙂
Andrea this is great information – I shared with all of my networks and am utilizing a couple of your suggestions@!
I find a lot of good stuff using Flipboard. I’m subscribed to about 25 different topics. I find a lot of stuff from places I’m not already following.
I’m a fan of Juice, Swayy and ContentGems.
Great additions – I haven’t heard of Juice so I’ll have to check it out – thanks Ben!
I always like when you find something outside of your “usual sources”. Thanks Mike and good seeing you at Authority briefly!!
Thanks so much Judy! Much appreciated!
Love your new design over at Post Planner! Thanks Joshua!
Thanks Scott and thanks for sharing 🙂
Your absolutely welcome my dear – will be doing a blog post and sharing your info – I totally believe in sharing info!
Glad you’re loving it, @andreavahl:disqus!… wait till you see what’s coming next! (hint: notice the shared IG posts on PP’s fan page) 🙂
I’ve been testing Swayy and the content is actually amazing which you can share to Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn but unfortunately when posting to Facebook the images don’t come out properly so I just copy the link, read the article and craft my post on the native scheduler direct on Facebook.
I’ve heard that Contentgems is quite good as well. Have you heard of this one Andrea?
Cheers. Juice is mobile only, but Its algorithm is often spot on http://juice.paper.li/
I’m a fan. ContentGems is not as sophisticated as Swayy’s algorithm and machine learning, but it picks up solidly relevant stuff in relatively high volume.
Hey Andrea thanks for the article. My preference of choice these days has been buzzsumo, but I also like to take a look at entrepreneur.com as well for content to share. I did read a top blog that Kim Garst did on Post Planner. But another good tip for people who are looking for content to share is to create a simpley google alert as well. I agree that it is really important to mention pages that you share content from as well. Again thanks for the tips. Cheers Kim PS I do love the new fb page for your husband. We love our firefighters down under in OZ as well. They do an epic job.
I really love using Facebook search on keywords relating to the topic or business. Twitter also has a lot of strong content you can find and get ideas to share. Again, use search and look at hashtags. One more: Google Trends. I find people respond very well to recent news and Google Trends helps uncover news you may have missed that can be related back to your page.
Thanks for the tips!

I like to use AudioBurst.com. They have a pretty unique selection of audio clips cut from popular talk radio shows and podcasts. Interviews with politicians, actors, scientists, etc. Plus news clips, they update the site everyday and they send me a unique editors newsletter every morning with new clips so I don’t need to bother with checking a feed or their site. Plus the clips are easy to embed on my blog and share.
